The Carrollwood Players Theater by Young People present a version of this art form starting Saturday. In this production of Babes in the Wood, Robin Hood protects two orphans from the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham. The show will be far from silent, with music, dance, comic dialogue and even some local jokes. Even audience participation is part of the show.

Showtime is 3 p.m. at the Carrollwood Playhouse, 4333 Gunn Highway, Saturday and the next three Saturdays. Tickets are $10 at the door, but groups of 10 or more can advance purchase tickets for $5 each. For reservations, call (813) 265-4000.NO STRINGS ATTACHED: A trio of puppeteers bring a story of Santa's near retirement to Lutz on Monday. Santa Claus Forever is done in the Japanese Bunraku style of puppetry. The 21/2-foot tall, soft-sculpture puppets are operated by puppeteers who are not hidden, but who are dressed completely in black and control the characters with attached rods.

The Creative Arts Theater of the City of Tampa of Recreation Department is presenting the 30-minute, humorous show in a full-sized stage setting, complete with sets for city rooftops and Santa's workshop. Show times are Monday at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Lutz Public Library, 101 W Lutz-Lake Fern Road. Library officials say there was a lot of advance interest, and space may be limited. For information, call (813) 264-3800.

DISCOVER THE AMAZON: The Amazon River has been the obsession of explorers, scientists and anthropologists throughout the world. Now you can take an engrossing virtual tour through the dense jungles and rain forest of South America's botanical and geographic wonder without leaving town.

Amazon is the latest offering at the Museum of Science and Industry's IMAX theatre. Academy Award nominated actor Linda Hunt narrates the 40-minute film, featuring music by Mickey Hart, world music percussionist and former member of the Grateful Dead. The landscape and exotic wildlife make this an eye-pleasing experience.

MOSI is at 4801 E Fowler Ave. Show times this weekend are today at 11 a.m., 1, and 3 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m., 1, 3, and 6 p.m. (6 p.m. show en Espanol) and Sunday 1, 3, and 6 p.m. For tickets and information, call (813) 987-6100.
