HERNANDO COMPUTER CLUB: Windows 98 basic class, 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Shrine Club, Montour Street. Hands-on Windows 98 classes will also be from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday for members who sign up after attending the basic lecture class. HERNANDO COUNTY CIVIL AIR PATROL 301: 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, 3151 Air Commerce Blvd. (Hernando County Airport). The Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the Air Force and an aviation-oriented organization. Cadet training is available for both adults and youths ages 11-18. Commander Charles Walter, 799-4356.

KIWANIS CLUB OF BROOKSVILLE: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Hernando County Recreation Department's Teen Hall, 205 E Fort Dade Ave. The club invites all visiting Kiwanians and other individuals interested in learning more about Kiwanis to attend. Steve Helm, 796-6788.

POLISH LEGION OF AMERICAN VETERANS, POST 196: Polish Oplatek (Christmas Traditional) dinner and dance, 12:30 p.m. Dec. 10, Senior Citizen Club, 7925 Rhanbuoy Road. Dinner will be at 1:30 p.m. There will be a Christmas tree trimming and Oplatki to share, Christmas carols in both Polish and English. Members are asked to bring a wrapped gift for a veteran at the Gainesville Hospital and a small ornament to decorate the tree. Dancing to the Bee Sharps from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $12.50. SONS OF ITALY, FRIENDSHIP LODGE 2728: Christmas party, 5 p.m. Saturday, Spring Hill Lions Club, 247 Hallcrest Ave. Cocktails at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Members are asked to bring a wrapped toy for the Dawn Center; include the appropriate age for the toy and whether it is for a girl or boy. SPRING HILL BOCCE CLUB: Christmas party, 5 p.m. Dec. 9, Spring Hill Lions Club, 247 Hallcrest Ave. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

SPRING HILL CAMERA CLUB: 7 p.m. Monday, United Church of Christ, Mariner Boulevard. This will be a photo competition meeting; photos and slides on any subject are acceptable. SPRING HILL TEACHING COMPUTER CLUB: Meetings are from 7 to 9 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month; classes are from 7 to 9 p.m. on the first and third Monday, second and fourth Wednesday and the second Thursday of the month, Weeki Wachee Acres Senior Citizen Center, 3357 Susan Drive (at Toucan Trail). The club needs people who can teach, set up or help with the many jobs needed. Membership is $20 a year ($15 for students), which includes membership to the Senior Citizen Center; classes are $1 for members, $2 for non-members.
