NEW VISIONS: American Stage, 211 Third St. S, St. Petersburg, presents Ten Percent of Molly Snyder by Richard Strand at 7 p.m. This alternative theater series features readings of plays by new and emerging playwrights followed by interactive audience feedback culminating in a final production selected from the eight plays. $5. ART OF THE SPIRIT: Abdul Karim Ali of the American Muslim Center discusses the beliefs and religious practices of American Muslims at 7 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts, 255 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg. The decorative elements of prayer rugs and other pieces related to Islamic life are examined. Free, but seating is limited. For reservations, call 896-2667.

AIDS DAY COMMEMORATION: Eckerd College, 4200 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg holds a variety of events beginning at 6 p.m. with a presentation by Dr. Beth Boyer Kollas, director and research coordinator of the Orlando Regional Mind/Body/Spirit Center on Fox Hall Patio. A candlelight walk to Griffin Chapel for a brief service and a 24-hour vigil follows. Tomorrow photos, poems and artwork by students are displayed and a service in the chapel at 4 p.m. is followed by a reception. Free. Call 864-7757.

SHOWTIME AT THE PALLADIUM: The Community Benefit Network presents a youth talent showcase at 7:30 p.m. in the Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. HOLIDAY TOUR: Ten kitchens and patios are decked out for the season and available to tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and tomorrow. PARK PROMENADE: St. Petersburg Preservation hosts a walking tour at 10 a.m. beginning in front of the Williams Park bandshell, Second Avenue between Third and Fourth streets N. The tour will visit 20 historic sites in the Williams Park and Mirror Lake Park areas in approximately two hours. $3. No reservations required. Call 824-7802.
