Regional Library hosts teen poetry night

The Northwest Regional Library, 15610 Premiere Drive, is hosting "Friday's for Teens," from 7 to 9 pm. on Friday for youths ages 14 to 19. Teens can express themselves through poetry in an informal, positive and supportive "coffee house" environment. For information, call (813) 264-3831.

Santa Claus to arrive by WFLA-Ch. 8 helicopter

Santa Claus will arrive aboard "Eagle 8" from WFLA-Ch. 8 in the center of Sun City Center Plaza at 10:45 a.m. on Friday during the annual "Holiday Kick-off Parade" and will meet Ronald McDonald as he leads the parade. The parade will start at 10 a.m. at Cherry Hills Drive and N Pebble Beach Boulevard. For information, call (813) 633-3500.

Santa Fest celebration comes downtown

Santa Fest will be visiting with the children from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday as part of the city's annual holiday celebration along the outdoor Franklin Street Mall in downtown Tampa. A parade begins at 7:30 p.m. at Morgan and Madison Streets and finishes on Tyler Street. Entertainment will be provided on seven stages along with 30 tons of snow for the kids to play in. Christmas stroll brings Victorian atmosphere

Experience the charm of a 19th century holiday at the Tampa Bay Hotel during "Toys, Trees and Tradition," the annual Victorian Christmas stroll from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday through Dec. 23 at the Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W Kennedy Blvd. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children. For information, call (813) 254-1891.

Center for Women to hold separation seminar

The Center for Women, 305 S Hyde Park Ave., will offer a seminar on "Florida Separation and Divorce Law" and will cover topics relating to child custody, support and property disbursement from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 6 and from 1:30 to 3:30 on Dec. 13. Crafts show to support youth, teen groups

St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N Himes Ave., is selling crafts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday to raise funds for the St. Lawrence youth group and "Teens for Life." To rent a table or for information, call (813) 962-0191.

Pet microchips available for $20

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Schering Animal Health Corp. and 20 local veterinary clinics are uniting to celebrate "Help Me Home" Week, Sunday through Dec. 9. During this week, pet owners may obtain the Home Again microchip ID for their pets for only $20 at participating clinics. For information, call (813) 876-7310.
