What's your favorite holiday food?

Though Christmas comes just once a year, the memories of Mom's chestnut dressing or Grandpa's famous plum pudding last forever.

We want to know what holiday delight you pine for -- and why -- as the calendar edges closer to Dec. 25.

Is it German stollen like Oma used to make? Maybe it's sticky candy canes or eggnog with a splash of something stronger. Is it the holiday food or the memories swirling around the food that you want to experience again and again?

Tell your story in 100 words or fewer and e-mail it to krieta@sptimes.com. Put Christmas Food in the subject line. Or mail it to Christmas Food, c/o Taste, St. Petersburg Times, P.O. Box 1121, St. Petersburg, FL, 33731. Please include your name, phone number and the city you live in. Deadline is Dec. 12.

We'll use some of your tales in a special Sunday Christmas edition of Taste on Dec. 23.
