Soccer

Arthur Prescott of St. Petersburg was selected to the Olympic Development Program's national camp for 14-year-olds, held in August in Boston.

Each year, about 100 players are chosen through nationwide tryouts to attend a series of camps.

Prescott plays club soccer for the IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton.

The Oldsmar Outlaws under-11 team recently finished first in the Palm Harbor tournament.

In addition, the under-9 team won the recent Azalea tournament.

The under-13 team recently finished second in a Pasco tournament.

Baseball

Two Clearwater Central Catholic players have signed to play in college next year. Catcher Brandon Diaz signed with North Florida. The four-year starter hit .350 for the Marauders last spring. Logan James, a second-baseman, signed with Jacksonville. Also a four-year starter, he hit .370 last season.
