Quick ride into the sunset

Texas Rangers straps six-shooters onto the hips of teen dreams James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek), Ashton Kutcher (That '70s Show) and R&B singer Usher Raymond. Is this supposed to be a serious Western or a very special episode of Boot Hill 90210? The story is loosely based on the true origins of the famed law enforcement agency, young guns who cleaned up the Lone Star state after the Civil War. Van Der Beek plays Lincoln Rogers Gunnison, leader of the band, because he has the best 3-day stubble. Rachel Leigh Cook (She's All That) co-stars as a pretty little filly who needs savin'. Texas Rangers has been sitting on Dimension Films' shelf for over a year after poor test-screening reactions. Why the studio thinks we need it now is a puzzling question. Get along, little doggie.
