Grants fuel classroom projects

The Hernando Education Foundation gives recipients money for projects not covered by regular school funding.

The Hernando Education Foundation recently announced the two dozen recipients of its fall mini-grants. Twice a year, the program helps provide money for special classroom education projects not covered by regular school funding.

In applying for the grants, which range from about $150 to $500, recipients had to show the educational benefits of their projects. Here are the winners.

BROOKSVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Amy Anderson: "Read A Book, Get a Book," $500.

Elsie McCord: "Sunshine State Young Reader's Award," $300.

Leonette Ehlenbeck: "Global Explorations Night," $300.

CHOCACHATTI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
