LACOOCHEE -- Pasco County sheriff's deputies on Friday arrested a man who they say shot a woman and a 2-year-old boy.
Guadalupe Francisco Cortez, 22, of 38533 Dixie Highway in Lacoochee, remained in custody Friday in lieu of $60,000 bail.
Both the woman and the boy suffered only minor injuries. They were treated at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City and released.
Deputies did not provide details about the shooting, but reports state that Marylynn Myerssaid Cortez shot her and the boy with a .22-caliber rifle.
Cortez faces two counts of aggravated battery and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
