Culpepper honored

Former Florida and Bucs defensive tackle Brad Culpepper was among the 2001 Florida Sports Hall of Fame inductees honored in a pregame ceremony. Culpepper's dad, Bruce, also was honored with tailback Jarvis Williams, track Olympian Mark Everett and gold medal swimmer Martin Zubero.

The hate's still there

With UF trailing 14-0 and little to cheer about, the first quarter's biggest ovation came for another score: Georgia Tech 10, FSU 7.

Spurriers make television appearance

Florida coach Steve Spurrier's son, Scott, and brother, Graham, were seen on ESPN. Graham was the focus of a feature about life in Johnson City, Tenn., as a Gator fan. Scott was among the Florida fans who showed up for the live GameDay telecast from Florida Field.

Charitable Gators

The Alachua County chapter of the American Red Cross received a $150,000 check during halftime. The money was raised from T-shirt sales at Florida games after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Full-fledged Gators

Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan and his wife, Christine, were presented with honorary UF degrees. The Donovans were accompanied by their sons, Billy Jr. and Bryan.
