Wildcats get first win out of wayBy STEVE LEE© St. Petersburg Times, published December 6, 2001 At long last, Wesley Chapel is in the win column and coach Annie McGhee can get used to that winning feeling. "It was nice to get that first one; it was a good feeling," McGhee said of that 2-0 win over Hudson in the Wildcats' fourth game of the season. That victory snapped an 0-40-5 start for Wesley Chapel, a third-year school. Sarah Harrison had both goals in that game and goalkeeper Autumn Yanchunis, an accomplished swimmer who is in her first season as a soccer player, earned the shutout. "At the beginning of the season, the girls thought (a win) was going to happen this year," McGhee said. "It was just figuring out which game it would be." MUSTANGS NEAR MARK: Mitchell needed all of last season to muster seven wins. In their second season, the Mustangs have five victories and should easily surpass that mark. Earlier this season, coach Steve Doyle projected a .500 season, but he may want to set his sights higher. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
