By Times staff reports Wal-Mart worker accused of fraud, theftINVERNESS -- A employee at the Inverness Wal-Mart was arrested Thursday and accused of creating a fraudulent gift certificate for her own use. Frances Ann Wilson, 41, 160 N West Ave., Inverness, was charged with organized fraud and petty theft. According to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, Wilson used the identification number of another cashier to create a $150 gift certificate for herself. She also is accused of stealing a phone from the store's electronics department. Wilson was released on $1,000 bail. Woman accused of exploiting elderly victimBEVERLY HILLS -- A woman who used hard-luck stories to obtain cash was arrested Thursday and accused of exploiting an elderly person. Barbara K. Illiano, 68, 20 N De Soto St., Beverly Hills, received $100 to buy groceries for a woman. But the woman, who is 92, told the Citrus County Sheriff's Office that Illiano delivered only $30 to $40 worth of food, an arrest report showed. The victim also told deputies that Illiano obtained checks totaling $675 from her for personal expenses after telling her she didn't have enough money to pay rent. Illiano was taken to the Citrus County Jail, where she posted a $2,000 bail and was released.
