Man arrested after hitting school bus

SPRING HILL -- Authorities arrested a Spring Hill man for driving with a suspended license after he allegedly ran a stop sign Friday morning at the corner of Abagail Drive and Bradford Street, hitting a school bus carrying 19 children to Spring Hill Elementary.

No serious injuries were reported, said Rucell Nesmith, driver trainer and safety specialist with the Hernando County School District. Nesmith said one girl complained of back pain and went home with her parents, while the rest of the students were taken to school.

Michael Leonard Julius, 32, of 14301 Glen Rock Drive was jailed in lieu of $10,500 bail, said sheriff's spokesman Lt. Joe Paez.

Paez said Julius' license had been suspended for a DUI conviction and for failure to pay fines.
