The Christmas tree is made of a wooden skeleton decorated with lights and holds the performing choir. The event includes traditional Christmas music and readings. The event is free. Promise Land Children's Ministries invites children and their families to story-time, Christmas crafts and family oriented games and activities. Everyone is invited to wear his or her pajamas. CAROLS: St. John's Episcopal Parish and Day School presents "A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols" at 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, 906 S Orleans Ave., Tampa. St. John's Choir of Men and Boys and St. John's Choir of Junior and Senior Girls will perform special motets and traditional Christmas carols will be sung by all. The festival has been popularized through radio broadcasts and recordings by the famous Choir of King's College in Cambridge, England. St. John's annual holiday dinner will follow the event in Parish Hall. The music festival is free; dinner tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children and are available in the church office. SEMINAR: Peninsular Christian Church hosts Mainstay Church Resources' Seeing the Unseen Christ Adventure Seminar for pastors and lay leaders at 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church, 3600 W Ballast Blvd., Tampa. During the seminar, presenters will explain the 50-Day Adventure concept and themes and provide practical teaching and assignments. The event provides a variety of tools for pastors to use in Sunday services. Full registration costs $169 or $39 just to "check it out."
