ST. PETERSBURG -- Some 20 members of the Lakewood Estates Teen Council will perform a one-act play and sing Christmas carols Thursday at St. Petersburg Little Theater.

"Welcome to the Back Two Rows" explores relationships at school between "new kids" and established cliques. Community Police Officer Michael Schwenk directs the play, which is free and open to the public.

Curtain for The Lakewood Estates Teen Council Christmas Show is at 7 p.m. at the theater, 4025 31st St. S. Everyone is invited to stay for Christmas carols after the show.

Fall from ladder breaks another arm

Fate is not smiling on Jungle Terrace officers who paint houses while standing on ladders. Residents have been extending sympathies to vice president Rich Meredith, who broke his left arm a week ago.

"I experienced what I call an uncontrolled departure from the ladder," said Meredith, who is left-handed.

"Rumor has it that Rich was going for Home of the Month at the time," ribbed Jungle Terrace president Steve Plice in an e-mail.

But Plice is not one to talk: In April he broke his arm while painting a house, also by falling from a ladder.
