Bust-A-Move Millennium

SYSTEM: Game Boy Color

MAKER: Acclaim

PRICE: $29.99

Game Boy is great for puzzle games, and Bust-A-Move, one of the most popular puzzlers, comes off well on the small screen. It uses the "connect three of a color" premise, and players can challenge a friend to find out who's best using the Game Boy cable link.

Grade: B+

MTV Skateboarding

SYSTEM: Game Boy Color

MAKER: THQ

PRICE: $29.99

Despite such a little screen on Game Boy, this game is packed with tricks to go with its level objectives. I found it a little hard to control the tiny skaters, but this is the best version of the sport Game Boy has to offer.

Grade: C

Championship Motocross 2001

SYSTEM: Game Boy Color

MAKER: THQ

PRICE: $29.99

Motocross 2001 pieces together video clips to give players the illusion of a 3-D game on the 8-bit Game Boy Color, and the result is surprisingly convincing. But the tracks are repetitive, as is the racing, despite the tricks that can be done in freestyle mode.

Grade: D

Test Drive: V-Rally

SYSTEM: Dreamcast

MAKER: Infogrames

PRICE: $49.99

Infogrames finally has a Test Drive game that's worth buying. With scenic graphics and more than 80 tracks and 16 cars that take real-time damage, it's hard to tire of this one.

Grade: A-

Cruis'n Exotica

SYSTEM: Nintendo 64

MAKER: Midway

PRICE: $49.99

Racing doesn't get any simpler than this. Plow through levels, flipping from collisions over dated-looking exotic locales such as Alaska. It's not for die-hard racing fans, but kids may like it.

Grade: C

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command

SYSTEM: Dreamcast

MAKER: Activision

PRICE: $44.99

The Dreamcast version of this game suffers from loose controls that make it hard to direct Buzz through the levels as he races against a boss character. It's too bad because the PlayStation version is fun.

Grade: C
