LAND O'LAKES -- Casie Poyssick's suspension was lifted Monday and the Land O'Lakes forward returned to the Gators' lineup.

Suspended last week for an incident that principal Max Ramos said involved two Land O'Lakes athletes on school grounds, Poyssick did not play in Friday's 3-0 win over Lecanto.

"As far as I know, all the students involved in that incident are back in school," Ramos said. "If somebody's back in school, then they're okay to play."

Poyssick, who scored a county-leading 43 goals last season, took the field and had one assist in Monday's 10-0 defeat of Gulf.

Asked if Poyssick's teammates were glad she was back on the field, Land O'Lakes coach Vicky King responded, "It wasn't a big event to them. They can play no matter what the circumstances."

Poyssick is the county's second-leading scorer with 16 goals and 6 assists for 38 points. She trails teammate Stacy Bishop (26-10-62).

The Gators have won all eight games by shutout and have outscored opponents 55-0. Land O'Lakes hosts Mitchell in a non-district, Sunshine Athletic Conference game tonight.
