U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Gerald L. Fuller Jr., son of Gerald L. Fuller Sr. of St. Petersburg, returned from a six-month deployment to Okinawa, Japan, while assigned to Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division.
Fuller's home base is Camp Lejeune, N.C.

U.S. Army Petty Officer 2nd Class John K. Carroll, son of Kenton and Dianne Carroll of St. Petersburg, has been deployed to the Mediterranean and Arabian seas. He is assigned as a nuclear reactor operator aboard the USS Harry S. Truman on its maiden voyage.
A 1992 graduate of Northside Christian School, Carroll joined the Navy in 1997.
