Leading 16-14 after the first quarter, CCC opened the second quarter with a 15-4 run to take a 31-18 lead with 2:30 left. TC cut the margin to 33-22 at the break, but the Marauders came out hot in the second half. CCC utilized a strong zone defense to force numerous turnovers and turned them into transition opportunities for an 8-0 run and 41-22 lead to open the second half.

"That was the most important part," CCC coach Bart Citro said of the pressure in the second and third quarters.

"We were able to get ahead with our defensive intensity, and we were very unselfish on offense."

Back-to-back three-pointers by the Crusaders in the fourth quarter helped cut the lead to 53-43, and consecutive layups by Anthony De La Torre, who led TC with 18 points, brought the margin to 55-47.

But the Crusaders got no closer than 59-53 as the Marauders made six free throws down the stretch to ice the game.
