A holiday whodunit

A holiday whodunit

That favorite whodunit, the country house murder mystery, takes on a seasonal glow in Aubrey Hampton's 'Tis the Season to Do Folly, set in a Vermont lodge on Christmas Eve, 1967. The suspects include the usual roll call of eccentrics: an Irish maid and her curmudgeonly boss, a magician, a couple whose marriage is on the rocks, a ski instructor, a veterinarian, a cosmetics manufacturer and her girlfriend, a stuffy executive and assorted townspeople.

"I've always loved magic, and I've always loved mysteries," Hampton said. "I was intrigued with the challenge of creating a story that combines two of my passions."

'Tis the Season to Do Folly has a large cast, including, from left, Jessica Alexander, Slake Counts and Steven Clark Pachosa.

The production opens at 7 tonight and continues for three weekends through Dec. 30. Tickets: $19 and $22. (813) 879-2914.
