THE LOWDOWN: The Lightning sent goaltender Dieter Kochan and center Steve Martins to the IHL's Detroit Vipers to make room for the returns of goaltender Kevin Weekes (sprained right knee) and defenseman Andrei Zyuzin (concussion), both of whom have been on injured reserve and are expected to play tonight. ... Martins played 19 games but has struggled and was a healthy scratch in four of the team's past six. ... Weekes has not played since Dec. 1. ... Phoenix goaltender Sean Burke has a 1.86 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage. ... This is the first of two meetings between the teams. ... The Coyotes lead the series 9-6 and are 5-3 at home. ... Phoenix is on a 2-5-2 stretch. The Lightning has one victory in its past eight games. ... The Coyotes are 4-0-1 against the East. ... Going into Wednesday night's games, Phoenix's Keith Tkachuk was tied for the NHL lead with nine power-play goals. ... The Coyotes were tied for the league lead with six short-handed goals. ... Phoenix is one of three teams not to be shut out or allow a short-handed goal.
