Elaborate holiday displays will light up visitors' faces

If one of your holiday traditions is packing the family in the car and riding around to look at homes decorated for the holidays, the following homes are contestants in the 2000 Home Decorating Contest sponsored by Citrus County.
These are monuments to the art of holiday lighting.
Crystal River and Ozello
11265 W Dunnellon Road, home of Chuck Priest. Reindeer, Santa and 14,000 lights. Dunnellon Road is County Road 488 and the home is a mile east of U.S. 19
6335 Esmeralda Ter., home of Richard Seman. 285 N Hedrick Ave., off State Road 44, home of Kim and Karen Cloud. Three string trees of Christmas lights, lights along front of roof edge. A snowman and elevated 4-foot Star of Bethlehem in a 5-acre field. "It's tasteful," said Kim Cloud.
8807 E Ren Place, home of Madeline DeFiore. Won third place in last year's contest. Life-size nativity scene, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, snowman, Mickey and Minnie around a Christmas tree, Santa on the roof, "thousands and thousands of lights, maybe 8,000 twinkle lights," said Madeline DeFiore.

911 Independence Highway, home of Charles Ballou.

915 Stetson Ter., home of Paul and Libby Hanna.
1355 S Colonial Ave., home of Robert and Joyce Mitchell. Reindeer family with tree, Santa and another reindeer with elves running around. Gingerbread tree and house. Nativity scene and full-size Christmas tree. About 6,000 miniature lights and candy canes lining the driveway.
