ART: UT will showcase graduating seniors in an exhibition today and Saturday at the Scarfone/Hartley Galleries. A reception honoring Theresa Hampton, Thammi Muriel, Kreg O'Leary, Christopher Raymond and Wendy Spigutz will be held tonight in the Gallery. Special hours for the Gallery on Saturday will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The exhibition will include a variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, computer imaging and mixed media. Contact Dorothy Cowden at (813) 253-6217.
HOLIDAY EVENT: USF's campus is hosting the Eckerd Celebration of Lights every night from now until Jan. 1. The 11/2-mile route features huge, animated lighted scenes. Millions of lights are used to depict such scenes as diving dolphins, swimming sea horses and marching soldiers. Portions of every ticket sold go to the Children's Miracle Network and the Hillsborough Education Foundation. Hours for the park are Sunday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $10 per vehicle. Buses are $1 per passenger. No walking is permitted. Tickets are available on site or at any Ticketmaster location.
UT presents the 19th Annual Victorian Christmas Stroll: Toys, Trees and Tradition from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. now until Dec. 23 at the Henry B. Plant Museum. Live musical entertainment will be featured each evening between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Experience the charm of the holidays at the turn-of-the-century Tampa Bay Hotel. Each individually decorated museum gallery evokes the spirit of Christmas of another era. Proceeds from the event will help fund museum restoration and preservation. NURSING DEGREES: UT's new nursing degrees and programs will be presented at a Nursing Department Information Session on Jan. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Plant Hall Grand Salon. Highlights will include details about the new MSN/MBA joint degree, RN/BSN and RN/BSN/MSN programs, and MSN concentrations in family nurse practitioner, adult nurse practitioner and administration. After the information session will be a free domestic violence update workshop, where participants can earn one contact hour. Only registered nurses who want to complete the bachelor of science or master of science in nursing degrees are invited to attend. The session is free.
