    Society of Arts and Letters will hold piano competition

    The Clearwater-Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Society of Arts and Letters is sponsoring a piano competition March 1 and 2, 2002, at the Gibbs campus of St. Petersburg College. The local competition winner will receive $500 and an all-expenses-paid trip May 17, 2002, to Boca Raton for the $10,000 national competition. Deadline for entering the local competition is Jan. 25, 2002. Contestants must be 18 to 29 years old.

    The National Society of Arts and Letters is a nonprofit organization that assists young artists in furthering their careers. Each year the society sponsors a different competition in art, dance, literature, drama and music.
