Galapagos Islands trip planned
ST. PETERSBURG -- The Arts Center, a nonprofit organization that teaches various media and sells works by local artisans, is staging a fundraising trip this summer to the Galapagos Islands.
The trip, led by wildlife photographer Jim Zuckerman and naturalist Greg Estes, is limited to 15 participants. It includes 10 nights aboard a three-masted motor sailer, two trips a day onto the islands, with their exotic animal life, three nights' lodging in Quito, Ecuador, and round-trip air fare. Cost is $4,900 per person; a $300 deposit is due by January.
For information, call Donna Fletcher at the Arts Center, (727) 822-7872.
Gordon and Janet Groene, authors of Living Aboard Your RV and other books on RV life and travel, will chat about life on wheels at the RV SuperShow next month at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.
Meet the couple in the Workamper booth from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 19 and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 20. A new edition of Living Aboard recognizes such recent trends as the many younger couples who buy RVs and travel full time while making a living and raising children.
The fairgrounds are on U.S. 301 off Interstate 4.
