Big day by ex-Bogie star helps doom Seminoles

AUBURN, Ala. -- Tia Miller, a Parade All-American while at Boca Ciega, had 19 points and 12 rebounds as No. 25 Auburn beat Florida State 71-59.

Florida State shot 46.8 percent from the field but was outrebounded 44-27.

It was the Seminoles' eighth consecutive loss to Auburn.

Tasheika Morris led FSU with 16 points. April Traylor added 11, nine on 3-pointers.

FSU led 12-11 less than five minutes in. But Auburn went ahead 13-12 on a Nancy Derrick jumper and led the rest of the game, including 33-21 at halftime.

WESTERN KY. 94, USF 77: The host Hilltoppers closed the first half with a 14-6 run and began the second with a 9-4 run. With 23 points, Natalie Powers was one of five players in double figures for the Hilltoppers, who led by as many as 22. Sonia Cotton led the Bulls with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Allison AuBuchon added 13 and Jen Kline and Webb 12.

TAMPA 66, BENEDICT 63: Nichole Blair scored 19 for the visiting Spartans, who won their seventh in a row. Liz Wetenkamp added 11.

MISSOURI WEST. 78, BARRY 52: The Griffons used a 10-2 run to take a 47-31 halftime lead and roll in the Western Holiday Classic at Palm Beach Community College.

FLA. SOUTHERN 70, NORTHWOOD (MICH) 65: Lucresia West had 27 points and 11 rebounds for the host Moccasins.
