The dinner will follow the Great Compline services, which begin at 5 p.m. The cost of dinner is $7.50. Reservations are required. Brooksville council seeks volunteers for advisory boardsBROOKSVILLE -- The Brooksville City Council is accepting applications through Jan. 12 from those interested in volunteering on the following advisory boards: Beautification Board. There are five positions open; one position has a term that ends Jan. 31, 2002, and the other four positions end Jan. 31, 2004. Firefighters Pension Trust Fund Board of Trustees. There is one position available for a two-year term through Jan. 31, 2003. Planning and Zoning Commission. Two positions are available for four-year terms through Jan. 31, 2005. Completed application forms are necessary; resumes alone will not be accepted. Applications are available in the city clerk's office, 201 Howell Ave. Applicants must be registered Florida voters. For information, call 544-5407. Withlacoochee care council looking for volunteers The Withlacoochee Area Long-Term Care Ombudsman Council is seeking volunteers. The organization is a group whose goal is to improve the quality of life for those who live in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, adult living facilities, adult family care homes and long-term care units in hospitals. Flu-shot clinic canceled due to lack of vaccineBROOKSVILLE -- The flu-shot clinic scheduled for Thursday at the Hernando County Health Department, 300 S Main St., has been canceled due to depletion of the vaccine supply.
