ST. PETERSBURG -- Two brothers have been arrested in connection with Wednesday's armed home invasion and killing of Dwight Fleming.
Michael Jermaine Mills, 24, was charged Sunday with first degree murder and armed home invasion robbery. He is being held without bail in the Pinellas County Jail.
His younger brother, 21-year-old Eric Mills, turned himself in to police and was charged with armed home invasion robbery. He is being held in jail on $50,000 bail.
The men are the sons of Cpl. Earl Mills, a 19-year detention deputy for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Also jailed on an armed robbery charge is Erica Bonita Brown, 20. She was arrested Friday.
Police say that on Wednesday night, Brown knocked on the rear door of Leo J. Dempsey Jr.'s home at 2411 33rd St. S. She asked to use the telephone. Dempsey knew her and let her inside. She left the door cracked open, and three men wearing masks rushed in and demanded money.
Fleming, 39, was Dempsey's neighbor. He happened upon the robbery and was fatally shot.
The investigation is continuing.
