2 diners open at BayWalk

Two restaurants have opened this week at BayWalk Shopping Center.
After an invitation-only preview Friday night with more than 600 guests, Dish opened its doors Saturday. Diners pick veggies, meats, garnishes and sauces from ingredient bars and take them to a chef who stir-fries them on a grill. John Schall, who moved to Tampa Bay after operating Fire+Ice, a group of restaurants in New England based on the same premise as Dish, opened the first location last October in Centro Ybor.
On Monday, the staff of Johnny Rockets, a 1950s-style diner, started flipping burgers and mixing malts. The original Johnny Rockets opened on Melrose Avenue in 1986 in Los Angeles. BayWalk is the chain's 142nd location.
