New kid on the block
Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius (G): Jimmy Neutron is the animated invention of the Nickelodeon cable channel, which in a reversal of its usual practice is launching Jimmy first in a movie, and next fall in a TV series. (Along with the movie come a Web site, video games, comic books and action figures). Of course Nickelodeon already has acquainted its viewers with the geeky, big-headed 10-year-old inventor. The movie's plot concerns how Jimmy and his pals rescue their parents from alien invaders. Star Trek's Patrick Stewart provides the voice of evil alien King Goobot and comedian Martin Short is his henchman Ooblar.
