Eliza and the professor in town
Many people consider My Fair Lady the perfect musical. You can make up your own mind when professor Henry Higgins takes that Cockney guttersnipe Eliza Doolittle under his phonetic guidance in a tour of the Lerner and Loewe classic that plays Mahaffey Theater this weekend. Expect a predominantly young cast in the Troika production, directed by Dallet Norris, with a small band to support memorable songs such as The Rain in Spain, On the Street Where You Live and I Could Have Danced All Night.
My Fair Lady, which opens the Mahaffey Broadway series, has shows at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets: $24-$49. (727) 892-5767.
