Whether your tastes run to an upscale gala serving surf and turf dinners and sparkling with a champagne fountain or to simpler fare, the following roundup of festivities should be helpful in deciding where to greet 2001. First, the major restaurants. Andre's 505 E Hartford St., Hernando: Live entertainment by Marti Carol and also by The Starburst Duo. Admission is $80 person and includes a carved sirloin buffet and cash bar. Other events include a fireworks display, champagne toast, party favors and continental breakfast. For reservations, call 746-6855. Coach's Pub & Eatery, 114 W Main St., Inverness: Though plans are still incomplete, Coach's is planning a New Year's Eve street party bash with live bands. Crown Hotel, 109 N Seminole St., Inverness: Special New Year's menu for dinner in the dining room, then Butch Ramsey entertains in the Fox and Hound Pub afterward with country, rock and pop music. Poseidon, 2035 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River: Entertainment by Hit and Run, plus a live comedy show by New York comic Spike Rizzo. Plantation Inn, Plantation Point, Crystal River: Admission is $185 per couple and includes a host bar from 7 p.m. to midnight.
