Whether your tastes run to an upscale gala serving surf and turf dinners and sparkling with a champagne fountain or to simpler fare, the following roundup of festivities should be helpful in deciding where to greet 2001. First, the major restaurants. Andre's 505 E Hartford St., Hernando: Live entertainment by Marti Carol and also by The Starburst Duo. Admission is $80 person and includes a carved sirloin buffet and cash bar. Other events include a fireworks display, champagne toast, party favors and continental breakfast. For reservations, call 746-6855. Coach's Pub & Eatery, 114 W Main St., Inverness: Though plans are still incomplete, Coach's is planning a New Year's Eve street party bash with live bands. Crown Hotel, 109 N Seminole St., Inverness: Special New Year's menu for dinner in the dining room, then Butch Ramsey entertains in the Fox and Hound Pub afterward with country, rock and pop music. Call 344-5555. Crackers, 502 NW Sixth St., Crystal River: Karaoke, free champagne toast and party favors. No admission. Call 795-3999. Poseidon, 2035 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River: Entertainment by Hit and Run, plus a live comedy show by New York comic Spike Rizzo. Cost is $15 per person or $25 a couple and includes a midnight buffet and champagne toast. For reservations call 563-1184. Plantation Inn, Plantation Point, Crystal River: Admission is $185 per couple and includes a host bar from 7 p.m. to midnight. Dinner is filet mignon and shrimp with a champagne fountain and dessert tray. Entertainment by Celebration. Capacity is 150 people. For reservations, call 795-4211. Homosassa Riverside Resort, 5297 S Cherokee Way, Homosassa: Special dinner menu at Charlie Brown's Crab House until 9 p.m. Then party shifts to the resort's banquet room. Admission is $10. Yankee Skipper, 2330 S Ripple Path, Ozello: Admission is $60 per couple and includes a choice of five entrees and live entertainment. Starts at 9 p.m. Call 795-0505. Two Guys from Italy, 5792 U.S. 19 S, Homosassa Springs: Admission is $5, live music by a disc jockey playing rock music until midnight. After midnight, local rock band Low Arrow performs. VFW 8189, 8856 W Veterans Drive, Homosassa Springs: Entertainment by live band Fred. Admission is $35 a couple and $20 for a single and includes a buffet. Open bar for beer and well drinks.
