Boy, 3, drowns in pond behind home
CRYSTAL RIVER -- A 3-year-old boy drowned Friday in a pond behind his home. According to a spokesman for the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, family members discovered the boy in the pond about 5:30 p.m. Friday. The boy was brought into a house on N Michaelmas Terrace, and the responding deputy performed CPR until paramedics arrived and continued the efforts. The boy, whose name was not released, was taken to Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River where he was pronounced dead.
