PINELLAS PARK -- A newly formed group dedicated to changing the way that Pinellas County deals with its feral, or wild, cats is looking for volunteers.
SNIFFS -- whose name is an acronym for its mission: Spay, Neuter, Inoculate Feral Feline Society -- wants to help stabilize the population of wild cats by making sure the animals stay in the wild to defend their territory.
Group members plan to temporarily remove the cat from its colony and spay or neuter it, then vaccinate it against rabies and return the animal to its territory.
For information, call Rita Bott at (727) 321-1950.
