League signups will feature new boundaries

LUTZ -- Lutz Little League will hold spring 2002 registration the first two weeks of January, and former participants should be aware of several boundary changes. The new eligibility boundaries are:

North -- County Line Road from Suncoast Parkway to Interstate 75 and I-275 junction;

West -- Suncoast Parkway from County Line to Van Dyke Road;

South -- Van Dyke from Suncoast Parkway to Simmons Road, then south to Crenshaw Lake Road, east to Florida Avenue, south to Bearss Avenue, east to I-275, south to Fletcher Avenue, then east to Bruce B. Downs Boulevard;

East -- Bruce B. Downs from Fletcher north to Bearss, west to Livingston Avenue, north to I-275, north to County Line.

Registration at Oscar Cooler Complex, 770 Lutz-Lake Fern Road, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 3, 4, 10 and 11, and from 9-11 a.m. Jan. 5 and 12.

Baseball is open to ages 4-18, and fast-pitch softball for ages 7-15. Cost is $60 for 4 year olds, $85 for all other ages. A late fee of $25 applies after Jan. 12.

Required for registration is a birth certificate and proof of residency, which is at least three of the following: driver license, voter registration, property tax record or utility bills.

Citrus Park registration opens for new league

CITRUS PARK -- Citrus Park Little League, now separate from Keystone, will hold its spring 2002 registration the first two weeks of January. This process is required even if the child played previously.

Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 5 and 12, 1-4 p.m. Jan. 6 and 13, and from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 9. It is in the boardroom above the concession stand at the complex on Gunn Highway just south of Ehrlich Road.

Ages 5 to 16 are eligible for T-ball, softball and baseball. One parent or legal guardian must be present with a recent utility bill and the child's birth certificate. For information, visit www.citrusparksoftball.com or call 920-3250.

Keystone ready for players on new fields

KEYSTONE -- Keystone Little League is holding registration for its first season on its new fields, the Ed Radice Complex. The fields are on South Mobley Road, about 2 miles west of Gunn Highway in Keystone.

Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 5 and 12, 1-4 p.m. Jan. 6 and 13, and from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 9 and 16. Cost is $85 for children 7 and younger, $100 for older children.

Eligible ages are 5-16. Players must be 5 by July 31. One parent or legal guardian must be present with a birth certificate, health insurance and physician information, and two forms that prove residency (driver license, phone bill, utility bill). Call 814-0233 for information.
