Look aheadSTAY HERE IN THE GARDEN: The musical The Secret Garden opens Jan. 11 and continues Thursdays and weekends through Jan. 28 at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Shows are at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for students age 17 and younger. FIN FUN: The seventh annual Mermaid Rod Run Car Show will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St. The cost to register is $15 in advance and $20 on show day. The event is hosted by the American Business Women's Association, Tangerine Charter Chapter. There will be music, door prizes, food and a raffle for a $1,000 prize. Admission is free to spectators. Songwriters may submit up to three songs about people, history, heritage, natural beauties or "critters" of Florida. Winning songwriters are invited to perform at the annual Will McLean Music Festival March 10 and 11 at the Sertoma Youth Ranch.
