NOTES: The Seminoles look to post consecutive wins for the first time since they won three straight at this time last season (Vanderbilt, The Citadel and Wake Forest). So what if it's Binghamton and Morgan State? The Seminoles need all the confidence they can muster heading into their Atlantic Coast Conference schedule, beginning with, yikes, Duke on Thursday. ... Besides the level of competition of late, part of FSU's reversal of fortune can be traced to the improved play of Dixon and Arrington, two of the tri-captains. Dixon is averaging 13.0 points and 9.7 rebounds in the past three games, while Arrington is averaging 12.7 points, 6.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals. ... The Bears end 2000 with a fifth straight road game, including a 94-58 loss at Georgia Tech in their last game on Dec. 23. They won one of the games, 61-56 at MEAC rival Bethune-Cookman College on Dec. 4. For what it's worth, B-CC beat visiting Furman, which then beat the Seminoles in Tallahassee on Dec. 4 in overtime. ... FSU leads the series 2-0; the most recent game was on Dec. 20, 1993, a 90-67 FSU win. -- Compiled by Brian Landman.
