New Year's closings

Government closings

All federal offices except for U.S. Customs and federal detention centers will be closed Monday. All state agencies will be closed Monday. County and city offices will be closed Monday with the exception of the police and fire departments.

Courts

County courts will be closed Monday. Federal courts will be closed Monday.

Buses

Hartline will offer no bus service Monday Jan. 1.

Malls

TAMPA BAY CENTER: Open today from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.; open Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WESTSHORE PLAZA: Open today from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., open Monday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

UNIVERSITY MALL: Open today and Monday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

BRANDON TOWNCENTER: Open today from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.; open Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

CITRUS PARK TOWN CENTER: Open today from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.; open Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sanitation collections

Residential collection runs one day later than normal through Monday, with normal collection resuming Jan. 4. Commercial collection will run one day late through Saturday. Hillsborough County solid waste, recycling and yard waste collection service will not operate Monday. . Monday yard waste and recycling collections will be Jan. 8. Garbage collection for Monday will be Thursday. Yard waste and recycling collection for Monday will be Jan. 8. Temple Terrace solid waste and recycling collections will offer no residential or commercial service on Monday.

Utilities

All Verizon PhoneMarts will be closed Monday. Verizon's customer care and repair center will be open 24 hours. TECO will be closed Monday. Peoples Gas will be closed Monday.

Post offices

The 24-hour office at Tampa International Airport will be open 24 hours during the holidays. The branch offices will be closed Monday.

Schools

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY: All schools and administrative offices will be closed Monday. The offices will open again with regular hours Tuesday.

HCC: closed Monday, Tuesday. Open regular hours beginning Jan. 3.

USF: closed Monday.

UT: closed Monday. Open regular hours beginning Jan. 2.

Libraries

Public libraries will be closed Monday.

Recreation

TAMPA RECREATION DEPARTMENT: All playgrounds, recreation centers and pools are closed Monday.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECREATION DEPARTMENT: All recreation areas will be closed Monday. Regional parks will be open Monday.

Banks

Closed on Monday.

Museums

The Tampa Museum of Art will be closed Monday.

Attractions

THE FLORIDA AQUARIUM: Open on Monday.

BUSCH GARDENS: Open today from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (closing for 1 hour) and reopening from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Open regular hours Monday.

LOWRY PARK ZOO: Open on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
