    FIRST NIGHT 2001: Dunedin's First Night 2001, a family-oriented, alcohol-free New Year's celebration, will start at 7 p.m. on Main Street. It will feature 23 acts on 10 stages, from circus performers to steel drum players. Admission buttons cost $10 in advance and are available at the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, the Art Center and the Dunedin Public Library. They will be available at the gate for $12 (children age 12 and under are free). Park free at the Dunedin Public Library, Grant Field, the Senior Center and Dunedin Plaza.     NEW YEAR'S GALA: The Royalty Theatre will host a televised New Year's gala at 9 p.m. at the theater, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. Tickets cost $25, $35 and $50. Call (727) 441-8868.

    NEW YEAR'S EXTRAVAGANZA: The Safety Harbor Resort and Spa will hold a dressy New Year's Eve party beginning at 9 p.m. Admission is $279 per couple. Call (727) 726-1161 ext. 7950 for reservations.

    GARDEN CLUB MEETING: The Garden Club of Tarpon Springs will meet at 11 a.m. at the Recreation Center at Craig Park, 105 Library Circle, Tarpon Springs. Call (727) 843-0581.

    MUSIC JAM: Attention seniors: Bring a folding chair and an instrument to the free Largo Jam from 1 to 4 p.m. at Largo Central Park near the back of the Cultural Center. Free. Call (727) 518-6946.
