A community forum on the Year 2000 computer problem is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Bay Forest Office Park auditorium, 5770 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater. The forum, sponsored in part by the Suncoast Community Institute of Noetic Sciences, will have a discussion on “How Y2K can act as an evolutionary driver toward a higher quality of community.” Donations will be accepted. The Tampa Bay Java Users’ Group will have an open house Wednesday to talk about the Java programing language. Java expert John J. McLaughlin of Sun Microsystems Inc. will discuss Sun’s new Jini technology. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the IBM Tampa Services Center, fourth floor, 3109 W Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. For information, send e-mail to timb001@ibm.net.
