TALLAHASSEE -- Starting DE Roland Seymour missed practice Wednesday because of a mild shoulder separation that could hinder his playing status for Saturday.

Seymour, a junior, injured the shoulder during last week's N.C. State game, but continued to play. He's been practicing with the team on a limited basis, but on Wednesday the shoulder pain became too severe to continue. Seymour, who has two sacks and 17 tackles (two for losses) this season, is expected to sit out today's walk-through. But Seymour said it's likely he'll play.

David Warren would make his first start if Seymour can't play.

TAMPA -- The Bulls' backup at nose tackle, senior Joey Camero, left the team citing personal reasons, coach Jim Leavitt said. Without Camero, Leavitt said freshman Greg Walls will be back up Ron Johnson and freshman Lee Roy Selmon Jr. will be third string

Another big move for the Bulls sent Georgia transfer Mike Usry to tight end from quarterback, in addition to playing on special teams.

"He is too good of an athlete not to have a chance out there," Leavitt said. "We expect him to do real well. He just has to get a little bit stronger. He knows our offense."

Usry is on the depth chart at tight end, but Leavitt said he will remain the emergency quarterback.

QB Kevin Patullo, a walk-on from Weston, will take over as No. 3 and will travel with the team.

DB Anthony Henry (knee) only took a few reps in practice and Jay Mize will start in his place for the second straight week Saturday at Troy State.

TE/RT Mike Snellgrove (knee) is doubtful for Saturday's game.

"I don't expect a drop-off," Leavitt said. "You will never hear me use injuries as an excuse."

Reserve CB faces charges

According to a Gainesville police report, Corker, his girlfriend and a friend, Lisa Anne Mitchell, were playing Monopoly on Sept. 14 when Corker became irate. The two women said Corker began to shout at his girlfriend, and when she tried to leave the apartment, Corker grabbed her and threw her to the ground. Mitchell said Corker began to strangle his girlfriend until she told Mitchell to call the police

Corker, however, said when his girlfriend tried to walk out the front door there was a "tussle," according to the report. Corker said he was only holding his girlfriend to the ground so she would calm down and did not strangle her.

The university has looked into the situation, but has not taken any action.

Corker was suspended for UF's game against Tennessee Saturday.

LINGERING KNEE: Coach Steve Spurrier said C Zac Zedalis will miss his third straight game with a sprained left knee.

After Zedalis, a senior from Alachua, injured the knee in the season opener, Spurrier said he thought Zedalis would miss just one week. Now, Spurrier seems baffled by the extent of Zedalis' injury.

"He was supposed to play last week and didn't play, and he's not playing this week," Spurrier said. "I doubt if he'll play next week."

Senior Corey Yarbrough has been filling in.

LBs thrown in to action

Perkins and Greenlee were expected to be redshirted, but UCF's injury problems at linebacker leave Kruczek with no choice but to use them. They lose their status as redshirts by participating in one play

"What can you do?" Kruczek said. "Deaubrey (Devine) doesn't have enough confidence in his elbow to come up and tackle and Tony (Hardman) can hardly walk. Willie Davis is out for the season, and these guys are capable of stepping in."

Greenlee isn't disappointed.

"This is exciting," Greenlee said. "We came to play and that's what we're going to do."

Parsons to miss game

"Of course we will be hurting without Ebbie because he's a very talented player," coach Billy Joe said. "He's our sack master, but we do have a plethora of great players ready to step up.

"(The coaches are) trying to put more experience there and they're working with the backups," DT Tyronn Johnson said. "Ebbie was playing both positions (DE and DT) and that's the role I'm going to take."

QB Quinn Gray (ankle) also is out.

ARKANSAS: QB Clinton Stoerner returned to practice after laying off since his right shoulder was injured slightly in Saturday's game. He made a few handoffs and threw a handful of short passes. "Right now, we'd start him," coach Houston Nutt said.

BRIGHAM YOUNG: Coach LaVell Edwards signed a five-year contract extension through 2004. Reports placed Edwards' salary at $250,000 annually.

NEBRASKA: Suspended RB Shevin Wiggins pleaded innocent to a charge of sexual assault of a child. The trial of the fifth-year senior from Palmetto is scheduled for Nov. 29.

UCLA: Backup split end Brian Poli-Dixon might be lost for the season because of a broken right wrist. Poli-Dixon was hurt in the first quarter of Saturday's win over Fresno State. He continued to play, catching a 15-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
