Still angry at Bucs? Refunds available for season tickets
By ERNEST HOOPER © St. Petersburg Times, published September 2, 1998 Marketing vice president Rick McNerney said season ticket holders will get a chance to review all seats next spring and perhaps relocate for the 1999 season. The Bucs have established a refund policy for season ticket holders dissatisfied with their reviews. The policy provides for a full refund, including the charter seat deposit, for all requests postmarked on or before Sept. 10. Refunds will take four weeks to process. PRACTICE SQUAD: The practice squad will be made up of three familiar faces and two newcomers. The team announced it signed WR Geroy Simon, S Shevin Smith, T Jamie Vanderveldt, TE Melvin Pearsall and WR Chris Jackson to its practice squad. Simon originally joined the team's practice squad last December and played in two preseason games this year. Smith was a sixth-round draft pick out of Florida State who played in four preseason games and had four tackles and a fumble recovery. Vanderveldt, who played with Jerry Wunsch and Jason Maniecki at Wisconsin, signed with the team July 26 and played in four games. Pearsall and Jackson are the newcomers. A native of Lake Wales, Pearsall spent the preseason with Indianapolis before being released Aug. 25. Jackson, one of Ryan Leaf's primary targets at Washington State, was with Seattle before being released Aug. 25. Last season Jackson caught 49 passes for 916 yards. He had eight receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns against rival Washington. TV APPEARANCE: QB Trent Dilfer and DT Warren Sapp will appear on NFL Films Presents next week. The show, subtitled The Bucs Start Here, will feature interviews with Dilfer and Sapp, a profile of coach Tony Dungy and a look at the roles of John McKay and Rich McKay in Bucs history. The show airs at 8 p.m. Sept. 8 on ESPN2. It will be rebroadcast three times between Sept. 8 and 15.
