Grand jury in missing baby case resumes

TAMPA -- After a four-month hiatus, a federal grand jury Wednesday heard testimony in the case of Sabrina Aisenberg, the 5-month-old baby who disappeared from her Valrico home last November.

Among those seen entering the grand jury chambers Wednesday morning were neighbors Scott Middleton and Martha Jones and Hillsborough County sheriff's Detective Linda Burton, who was seen carrying a small box.

Marlene and Steve Aisenberg, the child's parents, were named as subjects of the grand jury investigation in February, three months after they reported Sabrina missing from her crib.

The couple went before the grand jury separately but have not commented on their testimony. They appeared for less than 15 minutes each, but they would not say if they had invoked their Fifth Amendment rights. Sabrina would be 13 months old now.
