Hurricane Agnes sideswiped Tampa Bay in June, tearing boats from their davits, swamping entire neighborhoods and driving more than 2,000 waterlogged people, including this unidentified Shore Acres family, from their homes. “Thousands Flee, Many Stick It Out,” the Times’ five-column headline said.
