Thu Tram Tran came to Florida from Vietnam when she was nine. Kevin Tran -- no relation -- arrived when he was 12. They spent their teens in St. Petersburg but did not meet until they were in college at the University of South Florida in Tampa. When they wed in a Buddhist ceremony in 1995, the bride (shown with her sister, Thu Trang Tran) wore the traditional Vietnamese wedding gown, or ao dai. When this picture was taken, Kevin Tran was at his house, putting on a tuxedo he had rented from Mitchell’s Formal Wear. What was he thinking about as he got ready? “I guess you just want to get it over with,” he says.
