Jazmyn Shorter, Lakewood, track: The junior was undefeated in outdoor races, winning a state title in the 400 meters. She lost just twice in the 200.

Steven Bell, Land O'Lakes, track: Bell won state titles in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs. He graduates as arguably the best distance runner in Pasco County history. He will run at USF next fall.

Bryan Thomas, Zephyrhills, track: Thomas won the state long jump title. He is a Florida football signee and arguably the best athlete to leave Zephyrhills.

Ashley Anderton, Zephyrhills, softball: She hit .395 -- second-highest on her region final team -- with three home runs, six doubles, three triples and 24 RBIs. She also won a conference shotput title with a personal-best of 35 feet, 6 1/2 inches. She placed fifth at the region meet.

Carmine Giardina, Durant, baseball: The senior pitcher, who has signed to play for the University of Texas, fanned 16 batters in games against Alonso and Wharton to set a Saladino Tournament record with 32 strikeouts.

Cari Curfman, Durant, softball: She hit .447 for a very solid team.

Randy Hernandez, Citrus, baseball: Senior second baseman led the 'Canes to the region quarterfinals with a team-leading seven home runs and 37 RBIs. He batted .376 with an on-base percentage of .410 and a .716 slugging percentage.

Christina Hollback, Lecanto, softball: Helped the Panthers to a surprising Class 4A, District 6 championship. She bumped her batting average from .514 to .643 during the district and region quarterfinal run. Had 17 RBIs during the seasno and a 1.94 ERA.

Mike Kursteiner, Nature Coast, track: The senior won the Class 2A state title in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 11 inches. He also qualified for state in the long jump. He will attend USF next year.

Jen Knoer, Springstead, track: The junior made it to the Class 3A state competition in the high jump but did not She won the Region 2 meet with a leap of 5-feet.
