Josh Bowman, baseball, Northeast: Is 6-1 for the Vikings, with a 1.13 ERA and 67 strikeouts. Has beaten Dunedin and East Lake.
Pasco
Jerrica Cabrera, track and field, Wesley Chapel: The Wildcats' senior has been dominant in the hurdles this season with top team times of 15.87 (100-meter hurdles) and 48.10 (300 hurdles). She just claimed the 100- and 300-meter titles at the Wildcat Fast Times.
Hillsborough
Steven Evarts, Robinson, baseball: He has an ERA of 0.19 and helped the Knights to a 13-4 start by going 5-1 with two no-hitters.
Cari Curfman, Durant, softball: She hit .447 for a very solid team.
Citrus
Christina Hollback, softball, Lecanto: Hollback, a pitcher and batting .490 average and .510 slugging percentage. She leads the Panthers in with 24 hits, posting a 1.18 ERA in 71 innings.
Matt Schrantz, baseball, Crystal River: Schrantz, a first baseman and pitcher, finished March with a .509 overall batting average to go with one home run and 17 RBI. When the month ended, the senior also had compiled a 2.92 ERA in 36 innings.
Hernando
Valerie Blount, track and field, Hernando: In a meet at South Sumter, Blount just missed a school record for the shot put with a toss of 38 feet, 4 inches, just .75 inches short of the mark. The senior also took first place at both the Kiwanis Invitational and the HCAC meet, where she joined Central's Lani Coates as the only four-time county champions.
Mike Kursteiner, track and field, Nature Coast: The Sharks senior swept the jumping events at the Hernando County Athletic Conference meet, taking first in the high, triple and long jumps. His performance made up for last year, when a scratch in the long jump cost him the sweep.
