Joey Miazga's upside-down reflection is seen in the glass apple given to each of the 10 finalists for Pinellas County's Teacher of the Year award. Miazga has taught music at Seminole Middle for 18 of her 25 years as an educator. "Teaching music is not a way of life; if taught properly, it is life," she said in her application for the Teacher of the Year.
