"I'm seeing good things at Clearwater Beach, and I see good things in the future," said Stephen P. Leatherman, alias "Dr. Beach," a professor at Florida International University. The beach didn't make Leatherman's list last year, but changes in place and plans for improvements helped turn the tide.
