Rancher J.O. Batten watches Thursday's launch of space shuttle DISCOVERY from the seat of his tractor. He was mowing a field east of Brooksville when the shuttle carring 77-year-old U.S. Sen. John Glenn and six other astronauts cleared the treetops almost due west of Hernando. "This is a great place to watch launches", Batten said. "I was mowing hay in this same pasture when the CHALLENGER blew up. That was a long time ago."
